Weekends at the Jardin du Luxembourg, the perfect time to people watch. It's a grand time for Parisian families to enjoy the gardens. This sweet girl and her Papa were so kind to let me photograph them several times that day.

Aprés l'Eglise

 This sweet boy's sister was christened during the church service at l'EgliseVal- de- Grâce. I visited this beautiful church that Sunday and watched afterwards as the family gathered on the steps and allowed the big brother a chance to play.

I will presenting a phototalk on STREET PHOTOGRAPHY for the Shades Vallely Camera Club this coming Thursday, January 17 at 6:30 PM at the Vestavia Hills Library. The club graciously opens their meetings for visitors. I hope to see many of my Birmingham readers and fellow photographers there!

Sunday Church Series - Boys Will Be Boys

After services at The American Cathedral in Paris, visitors are welcomed in the back of the sanctuary for coffee and cookies. I always enjoy getting to speak with members of the congregation and the ministers. Meanwhile, these two were a bit tired of being bons garçons and had a little fun.

Mon nouvel ami

Normally I like to catch people on the street without them being aware I'm there. This day, there were kids running all around the Palais Royal, and this boy stopped and looked at me. I held up my camera, and he was very willing to have me take his photo. A sweet memory.

Vieux et nouveau

On the Boulevard Saint Germain side of the Saint Germain des Prés church is a sweet little park for children. There's a sandbox and a few little rides. Set against this beautiful wall, a very special place pour les enfants.

The first of the month is always Theme Day for City Daily Photobloggers all around this world. The theme this month is LOVING LIFE. I think this petite jeune fille doing what children everywhere love to do, play with a stick in the water, is a good choice. The fountain at the Palais-Royal is always a magnet for les enfants. The giant bubble makers are usually always in the plaza in front of th Hôtel de Ville.  I often get so absorbed in capturing the bubbles, I don't notice the children who are delighted as well.

Une promenade avec Poppa

What sets this photo apart, is that I captured it on Sunday, November 15, 2015, just a day after the terrorist attack. On this beautiful, sunny day, it felt like the whole city of Paris came out and embraced life again. It was a wonderful thing to witness.

Petite fille

This sweet girl was preparing for a ride on the St. Paul carrousel in the Marais. I think it's a memorable photograph for me, besides the cuteness factor, because it was taken on the Sunday afternoon following the terrorist attacks the previous Friday evening. That Sunday, it seemed that all of Paris took to the streets and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day!
