L'escalier

With my knees, these stairs, although lovely, are another reason I can't move to Paris. Le sigh...

Les fenêtres

If I had to choose, I think I would go with the traditional windows with shutters but the colorful newer ones do make me smile.

P is for Poilane

Take a walk down rue du Cherche-Midi and you will find Poilane bakery's flagship store. Several years ago we stayed in a lovely apartment, just a few doors down. Yes, we bought bread, and I was fortunate to be able to take some photos.

L'île

This photograph is very special. I am almost positive that the rue that runs between the first and second set of buildings on the left is the home of my dear Paris friends Keri and Richard. I spent a lovely night in their apartment last November. Keri, I'll await your comment to verify. Regardless, Île Saint Louis is a very special place, and I loved photographing it day and night!

L'escalier

Those of you who have been lucky enough to visit Paris and stay in an apartment,  know staircases like these oh so very well. They often dip in the middle from wear, and can be a very long trek up after a full day of walking Paris streets.  As much as I have cursed them when I'm dragging my luggage up,  I still love how charming they are, especially on the way down!

Nostalgie

Allow me a moment today.  For you, these steps probably don't mean much.  For me,  many fond memories. These are the slopey, well worn stairs from our apartment on St. Roch. I've walked DOWN them many, many times. Up.... not so much.  The morning light on the well worn carpet was too good to resist.

Another Contender

Cour de Rohan

Artiste au travail

Last January, you may remember that we rented the most fabulous apartment from New York/Paris artist and now very dear friend, Janeen Koconis.  Janeen's apartment also doubles as her studio, and she graciously allowed me to poke around and take some photos. Today, I share one with you.  The place where the KocoNewYork  magique happens!

Sunday Church Series - The View From Our Room

Each morning when Mary and I awoke to this view and the sound of the bells chiming, we pinched ourselves.  One day I hopped up and got my camera.  I just had to capture the view from our bed!
The Église Saint-Roch was directly across a very narrow little street. What a delight!

Ma Petite Cour

My last trip I had a great little studio apartment on rue de la Cerisaie, just a few blocks from Place de la Bastille in the Marais. It was on the ground floor and my windows opened onto this sweet little courtyard. I share these nice memories with you today.
