As much as I love staying in apartments in Paris, rather than hotels, I confess I have a love/hate relationship with the stairways! They are a photographer's delight, but on the other hand, they are the bane of my existence if there is no lift.

We stayed in Jerry's fifth floor apartment. Glorious in every way -- except for the stairs (especially with the suitcase!). My legs remember it well! What a beautiful capture of a most remarkable staircase!

I stayed in a friend's apartment once in Paris—5 flights, no elevator. I feel you, V!
I am fine with them until I have to lug cases up them V.
