As I walked around Tuileries this beautiful sunny morning last January, I found these ponies waiting patiently for some delighted little riders. I"m sure they didn't have a long wait.

Paris je t'aime
I fell in love with Paris in March 2007. It was as the French say, le coup de foudre : love at first sight. As a result of that trip, my photography took another direction. Since that time I have pursued a career of sorts in photography and dreamed of returning to the City of Light. November 2008 found me strolling the streets of Paris once again. My first visit I was so overwhelmed with the incredible beauty of the city, I photographed it as a "tourist". In 2008 I returned and I looked at the city with more of a photographer's eye. I wanted to capture the unique, the small details, and oh yes - the people! This blog was started as a photo diary of that trip, but I have been most fortunate to return to the city j'adore 15 times since. Each time I leave, I wipe a tear and start planning my list for the next trip. Paris may well be a moveable feast, but I think it's best savored in person! Someone told me that once you have been to Paris, you will leave a piece of your heart. I left mine right there, but I brought home some wonderful memories. It is my pleasure to share them with you.

Clockwise :) The sunlight on the caroussel is lovely and a warm contrast to the wintery trees in the background.
I wonder if they would have let you and me ride if I had been there, V de B!
I love carousels
Love these traditional carousels. Last August my son couldn't miss any, always stopped for a ride.
I wouldn't mind a ride on one of these myself Genie, beautiful early morning image.
Sorry Virginia, you can tell it's late here in Perth, I think it's time I went to bed!! I'd still like a ride on the carousel though haha!
I did ride it! When I was there ten years ago. (surely I was a child then). Some of my favorite Paris photos!
WOW, what a beautiful carousel. I think the carousels here are a bit drab compared to these. I've noticed that you don't see very many of these around anymore.
You know how I love carousels and M has already noted that this one is clockwise... I think that the silver-maned horse has an eye for you!
Well, i'm certainly far from a little girl, lol. But i would LOVE a ride on the one with the orange/red mane! What a beautiful carousel! I'm sure the children arrived soon after you took this photo. With squeals of delight, btw..
Carousels and swings...... they don't care if you are five or fifty, both call out 'come have some fun'.

Those are great! Reminds me of a long time ago and I can still here that music!! Is it me watching the children or me watching moi..?
