Les dernièrs géraniums

Poking down a little alleyway in St. Denis proved a good idea.  These two brave blossoms were still weathering the cold and wind last January.  A week later, Paris experienced bitter temps.  They put up a good fight against winter!

Les derniers geraniums... How brave they are, but they can't win... Not to worry. They will be back in the spring... Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Well spotted - such a determined and versatile plant. I have rediscovered geraniums for my garden. They grow well amongst my collection of salvia in our hot, dry summers.
Bon weekend.

Aren't they supposed to be hardy enough to survive winter?

Good old geraniums, they're so hardy and make the perfect window box. Sometimes you find such treasures down alleyways, well shown Virginia.
