Today a charming flower shop that displayed these beautiful orchids in their window. Sometimes, the simple windows are a nice change from all the holiday hoopla!
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.
I fell in love with Paris in March 2007. It was as the French say, le coup de foudre : love at first sight. As a result of that trip, my photography took another direction. Since that time I have pursued a career of sorts in photography and dreamed of returning to the City of Light. November 2008 found me strolling the streets of Paris once again. My first visit I was so overwhelmed with the incredible beauty of the city, I photographed it as a "tourist". My 2008 trip I looked at Paris with a different eye. I wanted to capture the unique, the small details, and oh yes - the people! This blog was started as a photo diary of that trip. I was thrilled to return to Paris and the French countryside in June and July of 2009, and blogged daily while there. I've returned to the city I love in June, 2010 , January 2011 and January 2012! Each time I visit, it feels more and more like home, and I discover new and interesting things with each trip. I cherish the time with my Paris friends as well as the friends that always join me there. Paris may well be a moveable feast, but I think it's best savored in person! Someone told me that once you have been to Paris, you will leave a piece of your heart. I left mine right there, but I brought home some wonderful memories. It is my pleasure to share them with you.

Beautiful flower shop ...
They are gorgeous and such a pure white. I will always love the holiday hoopla though!
Lovely display. Like the angle you've captured. And love hearing Louis Armstrong's version of La Vie en Rose playing in the background.
A lovely family of orchids, V de B!
I love, love orchids and have several at my office and several at home - lucky to even get them to re-bloom!
Indeed pretty. I'm finding that reducing and going to simple is my new theme in life right now!
The exotic white orchids look stunning against the red wall in the background, beautifully composed Virginia.
really great.. and beautiful photographs from Paris again.

Lovely flowers..But it,s the lovely mossy pots that caught my eye!
White orchids. Excellent.
These are truly beautiful – so many blooms and flowering at the same time!
I am partial to your post of Dec. 26 – loved the tower of Eiffel Tower – really cute.
This is a very wonderful feel good photo. Nothing nicer than beautiful lilies in full bloom. Merci beaucoup.
