Paris Rouge XVI - Didier Ludot

My blog amie Vicki Archer, author of My French Life and French Essence, also has a * blog délicieux for you Francophiles out there. Yesterday she told us all about Chanel's new faux tatoos. Well don't you worry, I'm not going there ( permanent or faux) at my age! She added that perhaps she would forgo them for a trés chic quilted Chanel handbag or bouclé jacket instead. I'm right behind you Vicki, and I know the place. Didier Ludot at the Palais Royal caught my eye EVERY time we strolled past it on the arcade. This is THE place to shop for vintage haute couture. Well take a look for yourself. I'll bet you can still see where I pressed my nose and fingers against the window. What would I buy if I COULD? Well that gorgeous crème gown with the big bow on the back for one. There's much more of course but there's this matter of euros.........

* correction s'il vous plait!

My goodness, what delights. Not sure any of them would be suitable to do the dogs tho! Only kidding. Sure that cream dress with the bow would suit you beautifully, Virginia.

I don't normally buy red clothing, but that little red halter-neck number is really pretty! As you say, Virginia, so much choice... and it's a good-looking shop, that's for sure.

Why do you call for " * correction s'il vous plait!" ?

Great photos...I wouldn't mind walking down a long elegant staircase in that long gown with the fur trim...and maybe a tiara? If I was much younger I would go for that long necklace off a backless number...Thanks for the tip. It is going right into my Paris travel journal for the next trip

Laurent, I was pretty sure my français was not right!! The translator didn't know what to do with "delicious blog"~!

The amazing thing is that as many times as I walked by and drooled, I never went inside. I think I was a little intimidated!

Style,
I know! I could hardly wait for you to get here today. This place has you written all over it. Have you even been here? Next time, I'm marching right in and having a look around. I might even try on that mink coat. Well "la ti dah"! HA

Like you, «Louis» will take a pass on the tattoos, faux or otherwise.

Holy Fright! We've gone completely to hell when a fashion house like Chanel is offering tattoos no matter what the configuration.

I didn't know you were pals with Vicki Archer! I adore her book. The cover is on my list of things to paint. I'd actually love to have it as a big mural on the wall.

I know what you mean about feeling intimidated by the shops. Heck, I couldn't even bring myself to get into the line at Lauduree. I know French fairly well, but when it has to come out of my own mouth I forget every word. So I went to Starbucks and ordered in Italian instead. HA!

My mind is still reeling from the fact that a woman, any woman, would want a tattoo. Faux or real.

Oh, I have left many a sweaty noseprint on that window, believe me. That store is right down the way from the Lutens perfume stop, which is a can't-miss stop on the Paris Pilgrimage for me. I've never tried anything on. Maybe next trip.

Didier Ludot is a favourite of mine too Virginia...for window shopping at least. Any excuse to visit Le Palais Royale. Thank you for the lovely mention, xv.
