The Staircase

Taken at the Musée Carnavalet in the Marais, this museum is dedicated to the history of the city of Paris and has no admission fee.

I am pleased to announce that Linda Donahue, editor of Parisien Salon.com, has chosen another of my Paris street portraits for one of her articles!

Virginia- Why didn't Linda Donahue give you a photo credit on her blog?

Looks cold in Paris. Reminds me of the time I was there and I wanted to buy some Adidas tennis shoes. But when I went into the shoe store my feet were so cold I couldn't feel whether the shoes fit. The store people thought I was nuts.

As always, lovely photos of Paris. I'm sorry we missed you this trip. My sister and I will be in Paris this weekend--Thursday through Sunday. Will send warm thoughts your way and will hope for photos half as good as yours! xoxo

«Louis», to his regret, missed this musée which is near where he lived in Paris...

Congratulations on the photo pick! ;-)

Anon,
She did give me credit at the bottom of her article.

Mr. E,
They were probably right! :)

Louis,
How on earth did you pass this by?? C'est dommage!

Shell,
The outside of this museum is the very best. This trip there was some renovation going on in the gardens so we snuck outside for a few quick shots. I have another one coming up that I took through the gate!

Janet,
I can't believe we missed each other. Have a great time showing your sister Paris. I'll email you about some places to eat.

The lighting on the statue with the shadow behind it is lovely. I can see why they selected it!

Jeanne,
Thanks for your visit and comments. Please come back often.

Harriet.
I smiled when I posted this. It's for you my friend.

This remeinded me very much of the staircase in le Petit Palais, though it is somewhat different. You can almost see it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/99899793@N00/2685207021/

The street portrait selected for the article is a joy, VJ. A wonderful capture. You have an eye for the beauty within the ordinary. I admire that.

Stunning stairs! And how cool to get your photo published on Parisien Salon! (I only looked at the photo, which I like tremendously, so now I need to go back and read the article).

Wow, this is great... funny, I was just in the Musée Carnavalet not long ago, and posted a couple of pictures from the ground floor wing with all the signs in it, back around Halloween. But I also photographed the dog in this sculpture, and will have to do a post with those photos, linking to this one... small world, eh ?

It's so wonderful to recognize a secret corner like this in someone else's photo. I loved this staircase, loved this whole museum. Did you get to the art gallery? They have some A-MAZE-ING paintings there.

Love the rich brown on the statue.

You placed the camera at just the right spot too.
