Courtyard Musée Moderne de la Ville de Paris

This photograph was taken in the courtyard of the Musée Moderne de la Ville de Paris in the Palais de Tokyo. I rather like the fact that it's a bit of a mystery as to what the people are doing. Eating? Reading? Working on their computers? Actually all of those things. It's a rather nice spot to sit, but the city of Paris has dropped the ball on keeping the lower area clean of debris. It's rather a disgrace and most unlike other public places around the city.

Have never been to this place, so next time for sure. Maybe they'll clean it up before my next visit, eh?
Love this shot, Virginia, because the level of concentration is so high—and it's in b&w.

Most likely, they're doing all those things. It is a kind of resto. 2

I can't tell you why the place is so badly maintained. What I know is that the building is separated in 2 parts. One is owned by the city of Paris (Musée d'Arts Moderne) and the other by the State (Palais de Tokyo). The poorest side is the one kept by the State so maybe we should ask Mr Sarkozy !
By teh way don't forget your scarf and gloves, it is freezing today (-5%) and they say it is going to stay like this the whole week!

Laruent,
It is in terrible shape and so very close to la tour as well! Maybe I'll have a word with M. Sarkozy about it! I've got so many scarves and gloves to be packed. I guess we will have to duck in many cafes and shops to warm up!

Alexa,
Yes do go! Peter and I were fortunate to see a Cartier- Bresson exhibit the last time. Since it's free ( thanks for the reminder Laurent) I hope to zip in and see the Dufy exhibit Laurent featured.

LA,
Merci

Style,
It is so open and light. I liked "most" of the art. Some left me puzzled but contemporary art sometimes does! Glad you liked your moules!

Whatever you can do to get the place cleaned will be much appreciated! It seems that now at least some of the wild tagging is gone. Let's check again together in a couple of days! :-)

Must remember to come here more often. I am just tying up details for Europe in September: Paris, Beziers, then Barcelona. Can't wait. My beginner language lessons commence v.early February.

Love the black & white and the scale of these studious souls amongst the pillars! I hope you get to see the Dufy exhibition, Virginia ~ I have a soft spot for many of his works!
