La Grande Roue de la Concorde

Place de la Concorde's obelisk  with the Grande Roue de la Concorde in the background, decked out for Christmas.  It went up 16 novembre and will come down 13 janvier. Prix 10 euro, and worth it for the views of Paris from above.

So pretty, V. I have to say, I'm wondering more and more if I could handle the cold of Paris in winter. She offers so many special things at this time.

I would hop on that wheel in a heartbeat.

I'm wondering how many grandes roues there are in France for Christmas?!Each town seems to have one!

Magnificent! I love it! :)

V, I have been thinking about you since I first heard about the school shooting in Connecticut and I remembered that you were a former elementary school teacher. I know how this must have hit home for you. Such a tragic and senseless act!

Kristie, how kind and thoughtful of you. Yes, I taught third grade and hearing the interview witih the third grade teacher there just b rought me to tears. Such a senseless act. I hope this jolts the US out of the gun induced coma we're in! Thank you for your thoughts.

Peter, Maybe we can go up again this trip on a clearer day now that I'm over my fear of it. My treat this time as I think I was out of Euros and you kindly paid my way. Are you resting up for the Paris Marathon in janvier??? :)

Vreni, we are expecting you to take that ride and have photos to share!

Nice shot! No wonder I've never seen it while I was in Paris. I've always gone just after it comes down or I leave Paris just before it goes up. :-(

10 euros sounds like a bargain for such views (and photo ops)—hope you do ride it again!
