Signes du samedi - Pas de chiens
There is a dear little playground adjacent to the Église Saint-Médard on rue Mouffetard. Good things these petits garçons didn't bring their chien along!

That sign makes me grumble... ;)
It always cracks me up that dogs are welcome in most cafés and restaurants, yet they often get "barred" out of small "squares" (public gardens,) in Paris. Pauvres petits chiens! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Doggies or no doggies, I like the glowing light on the church, it brings out a holy atmosphere...
Whereas a cat will simply jump the fence and do its business in the sand-box regardless ... wistful ... this image to me, is wistful.
The priests probably got tired of picking up dog poo!
That's too bad! Lovely little playground, though. I'll bet any dog would be happy to play there with his people. ;) Alas.. there are those pesky rule things...
Mr R and I sat on the seats here in the shade of a large tree for some respite from the summer sun. The heat didn't curtail the activities of the children who were scrambling over the play equipment. Bisous
We are responsible dog owners and pick up after our dog. Unfortunately, so many of the French do not and so they close the parks to dogs. So sad!
This made me giggle with delight! You know why?
Because in Switzerland, those signs often carry a teckel (dachshund) with the red cross over their back... and since I had a Dachsie myself, I always said that 'she can go in here because she doesn't have a cross on her back'.....
I am a dog fan and often get quite grumpy when I see the poo sticking to the 'trottoirs'; but there are no facilities like we have, poles every couple of 100m with bags and a special dog poo wastebox with lid! The five cats of probably 5 neighbours here however have no problem either to do their business in full sight of myself because they're peeved over something 'I did'...
I ADORE this photo of the two boys. So precious.
