Les Décorations

Last January I noticed that many of the cafés and restaurants had added festive decorations over their signage.  Today, I'm sharing not ONE but THREE photos. Consider it an early Christmas gift, or  perhaps a  Christmas miracle!

All of them are indeed festive, esp because of the colours. Today I think I'll look for red ornaments to decorate my crabapple tree in the front yard. Decorating it for Easter was a big hit so i assume it will be as festive as the ornaments on your post today. But, alas, the pretty snowfall has almost disappeared.

Bonjour V. I love your blog banner, by the way! Very festive :-) Thank goodness for all these cheerful Holiday decorations on Parisian stores and boutiques. I can't imagine how grey and depressing the city would be without them in January (January and February were always my least favorite months of the year while I lived in Paris-- and the same goes for Seattle now. Go figure...) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Virginia, I haven't been to France during Christmas for over 20 years (by choice since I hate cold, grey weather). I know that when I grew up there, Christmas decorations were put up just few days before December 24th. Is it different now? In the US, some people put up their decorations around Thanksgiving and stores already have theirs for sale in September.

Les décorations en rouge .... just perfect!

Nadege, I was there the week before Thanksgiving once and they were fully decorated. I have been there as late as the third week in Jan. and decorations like this were still up but Galeries Lafayette had taken down their windows.

Thank you Virginia! I wonder what individuals, not businesses do. I guess I will ask my family. All my nieces and 1 nephew have kids. It makes sense to keep lights and decorations around for a while just for the color and happiness they bring during the gloomy weather of winter. It does bring cheerfulness.

There's something rather delicate about all of these—just lovely, V. Merci!

I wonder if the same person decorated all three places?

Oooo! Triple thank you. They're all beautiful, but i love the first one best. So much gorgeous red! :)

I was thinking exactly the same as Starman. Or is this THE way to decorate your shop/café in Paris? I will find it out!

I like these, with the twigs and colorful balls. I'll see what I can work up at home. We have lots of twigs.

Nice Christmas decorations. Certainly different from the average fare over here.

Love the wild branches and the old stone. As if a hawk built a nest and added ornaments... Joyeux Noel!
