Look at that smile!
I think the only thing that keeps these enthusiastic pétanque players at home might be rain, sleet or snow. Certainly a cold afternoon in January was not a deterrent! ( I think the spectators are almost as interesting.)
Jardin du Luxembourg bien sûr!

Not only is he happy he is also very limber. Not sure if I could get up if squatted that low petanque in hand.
I bet the pétanque balls are really cold to the touch! Great shot (yours and his)!
i have been away on a short trip , Virginia and am catching up with your blog..
Glad to see nothing changed ... pétanquers sont présents ( I adore them too)
Happy Easter

With a good sun puddle I also don't mind the temperature!
God bless you!

Lovely smile n look at the way he tries to sit in that circle...
Ah.....The simple pleasures of life are sometime the best.
Wishing you an early Happy Easter as I'll be away tomorrow.
Je ne sais pas si ce monsieur approché la boule du cochonnet, mais vous, vous avez à la perfection atteint le but avec cette capture...
Gros bisous et joyeuses Pâques.
The guy on the right is so intense. It must be an important point.
:)!! Love it!
Great shot, V! Love those shadows. Hope you're having a lovely holiday weekend.
We were there just last Sunday and probably saw these same guys... They have the "prime" courts and are amazing. The weather last week was perfect although I do not think that it affects these guys at all. Nice shot, V.
I have always wanted to play this game. From the smile on this gentleman's face something good must have happened!
Have a very Happy and Blessed Easter, Virginia!
Joe, those squats are what finished off my knees as a photographer. Glad this player can still get down to peruse his throw!!!
Starman, I tried 5 times to leave a comment and the damn WV stopped it. I eliminated the ANONYMOUS from my blogs weeks ago and have not had one spammer with the WV since.
All these older gentlemen used to play everyday by my flat down in the 11th ... hahah love it
wonderful shadows
Love this shot Virginia, a little bit different from my Aussie boules post yesterday!
