Déjeuner à Nemours

Funny, I rarely take photographs inside cafés or restaurants in Paris, but this was our last lunch in Paris last January and as always I felt this compulsion to snap every possible image of Paris before I had to say, "Au revoir".  This lunch over a Croque-Monsieur, salade et vin, proved to be a treasure trove of images. You have already seen many of them.  Today a photograph I love, mainly for all the details that I unknowingly captured.

I´ve been to Nemours only once and was lucky enough to sit outside (on a sunny November day in 2009). Thanks to you I now know how it looks inside. I love it! Must go back there!

Yes you're right Virginia, there's so much to see in this image, the reflections at the side, the artwork in the background and of course the symmetry of those beautiful lamps. Excellent shot.

I like the mood here, the soft light, I can hear the sweet noise of forks and knives against plates, people murmuring together...

What a great angle! I think the perspective it what allows the viewer to notice those wonderful details you've captured so well. Thanks, Virginia!

I take inside pictures....a lot. Rarely does anyone seem to mind. I'm glad you took this one. If I ever get back to Paris, I'd like to go there.

I also love the way you've captured the light in this shot, V. Last time I was here, I sat where the gray-haired man is sitting. (Yes, that was a sigh you heard.)

Looks like the perfect French cafe. Almost has a nostalgic feel to it, like the woman on the right could be from another time.

All of it, especially the expression of the woman in the right foreground.
