Sunday Church Series - Église Saint Roch

This past trip to Paris, our apartment was across the street from the Église Saint-Roch  (completed in 1754) in the 1st arrondissement.  Each morning we awoke to the beautiful chiming of the hour and had a view of the windows from ours. This is one of many photos I will share in the upcoming months.

Beautiful church, also wellknown for its lunch hour concerts (Tuedays), free of charge! (I think I will prepare a post on this church as well.) :-)

Cinthia,
Thank you for your comments and visits. I too am drawn to light/shadows!

We will be giving this lovely church much exposure among the three of us. Before I posted my first one I looked to see if there was a "Peter-pedia" post. Alas, not yet.

Beautiful lighting and composition, V.

The highlights (and low ones too) are just beautiful here, V. Looking forward to more shots of this church.

Wow! Maybe it's just my weird eyes, but it looks to me like a huge 'round', worm-like thing is hanging in the middle of the place. What a fantastic optical illusion!

What beautiful light in this photo! In what part of the church was this photo taken?

So beautiful, Virginia. I love the Paris churches.

I've been so busy this week I pretty much missed your trip to Paris! Just catching up. It sounds like you had a wonderful time.
