Mary and I arrived in Paris around 6:30 am that morning. We caught the Roissybus for l'Opéra in a driving rain in the dark. All hopes of photographing Paris at sunrise vanished. Through the bus window, in the dark, I spotted this beautiful church. As luck would have it, Mary, Peter and I were able to visit that afternoon. It was still raining on and off but we all had a grand time photographing this
church, built 1860-1871. I will have more to share. Merci to Peter who spotted the rouge steeple for my Paris Rouge series.

The little rouge steeple is such a beautiful touch on this magnificent church. Well spotted, Peter, and wonderfully photographed, V.
The filtered shot through the trees of winter is superbe and the red steeple just makes it perfect

I love seeing this 'eglise' through the nearly leafless branches. The darkness gave way for a beautiful shot. Oh how I love that adrenalin rush of entering Paris in the early morning.
Shell,
I loed the trees as well. Those at the bottom offer a touch of color.
Genie,
Beeen here?
Harriet,
That adrenalin rush will carry me well in to the evening!
And according to your hyperlink, the church has THREE organs! We surely did hit the ground running that day...
Was going to say there are also a few reddish leaves still clinging to the trees—but you beat me to it! Wonderful shot, V.
This is superb. It has all the elements of a Parisian church (well, in my mind anyway)...kind of gritty and mysterious and grand!
I am living Paris through your lens!!
My dream is to one day visit but until then I am enjoying your posts!
Pamela :)
Was it Dylan who sang :
"I dreamed I saw Saint Augustine, as live as you or me..."
A fine Paris landmark, I drive by there quite often, it is on one of the quickest paths in and out of the center of Paris...
Hope you had a fine trip back home, and are having a grand time now sorting out all the photos !
Oh Owen,
Leave it to you to have really fine lyrics pour moi. Yes, I had a good trip home but as always Paris continues to tug at my heart. You understand I know.
V
Peter has much better eyes than me (surprise, surprise), because even enlarged, I can't see the 'red' steeple.
