Sunday Church Series - Église Saint-Merri

The Église Saint-Merri adjacent to the Stravinsky Fountain at Centre Pompidou, houses the oldest bell in Paris (1331).  As you can see, the facade is getting some restorative work,  but this unusual art was added.  The bike clenched the deal for me.  Only in Paris!!

What a delightful moment to have captured! Serendipity at its best.

Your eye goes right to that red silhouette—but there's a lot to look at here (including what's half-hidden)! Is that a Velib bike, V?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the "art". This is not the right place for it. They should move it over by the Pompidou. Or maybe the American Church.

Starman,
I suspected that would be the case. I'm not sure how I feel about it but I thought it was to unusual I had to show it. You must agree that the French have a way with art that we will never have!:)

Cool picture! I think I've only been in that church once. For some reason it always slips my mind.
