le Magasin de Pomme

French Stranger #74

Well you know the first stop we made the day we landed in Paris was the Apple Store Opéra!! Oh it is just amazing.

A meticulous renovation of this beautiful old building blends elegant French wrought ironwork and columns with Apple's trademark merchande displays.  I was fascinated that this enormous two story store is laid out almost exactly like ours here in Birmingham.  Today I feature a very friendly Apple employee whose English was very good as he answered my questions. I regret I forgot to get his name!  I will share a few more photos in the future.

 12 rue Halevy

I regret that we ran out of time before I could visit the Apple Store Louvre. Next time!

mmmmh I can't say that makes me happy. It's all about global economy and global marketing - the world becoming so uniform. Thank heavens for old architecture which brings a bit of differentiation.

I didn't quite understand why it was so important for you to visit the Apple store in Paris...

Hey, nice t-shirt. ;) And he's given you a very sweet smile. So I guess you found your way around the store like an Apple pro, V...

Nathalie,
It was at the top of my list because at home, I wear that blue tee shirt several times a week! :)

Shell,
HA, I noted that they had switched back to blue from the red holiday ones that very day!

Looks like his name says Sofiane...or Soflane...per usual, you had him charmed!

Is he a "genius" or a salesperson? I love all the folks at the NYC Apple stores—because they don't work on commission, they're willing and able to talk to you for hours if you want, and never act like you're an idiot, no matter how stupid your questions. And, V, you wear one of those shirts because . . . you work at the Birmingham store? (See what I mean about stupid questions?)

Apparently there are 2-3 basic Apple store designs depending on whether they build from scratch or use an existing site ...

One of the things I love about Apple (maybe the only thing actually) is the way every store is the same, so if you go to a store in a different city, you don;t have to learn your way around to find what you want.

His name is Sofiane. Dope. Says so on his name tag.

"per usual, you had him charmed!"

Or the other way round....
