As I approached the Place des Vosges on the afternoon I arrived in Paris, this man appeared from his top floor apartment to tend his flowers. This is the type of photograph that I feel captures the essence of Paris for me.
I have a closer, horizontal shot that I debated over. I think I"ll share it as a header photo one day .

He's planting my favorite summertime windowbox flowers -- white petunias! They look so fresh when the temperatures soar.

Its a good feeling to be in the right place at the right moment - with your camera. It would have been a pretty picture without the figure, but with him it becomes something special.
He reminds me of Zero Mostel... but not really ..
aww , i loike this moment , awesoen view , cherish the day :D
Gorgeous, V! As jennyfreckles says, even more special with the green-thumbed gentleman tending his beauties.
Love the window.
Oh, yes—so very Parisien! You definitely capture more great photo ops than the average visitor to Paris, V.
Makes me want to live there ...
M,
Needless to say, it makes me feel the same way.
Daryl.,

Alexa,
All I can add is that you and I need to land in Paris together one day.

La Mom,
Out of the closet?HA I love you/both? Please don't stop your wonderful blog. I love it!
So glad La Mom commented, so I could visit this (heretofore unknown) blog—it's wonderful!
And V—I would LOVE that!
La Mom has been a blog I"ve followed for some time. Seems she is SHES! Well having a blog buddy sounds like a grand idea to me. Having to feed the "twins" every night is sometimes grueling. Anyone want to join me? As for La Mom, it seems a book is in the making. HOT DAMN!
V
This just made me smile!
