Le joueur d'orgue

We continue on our little trip to the grande brocante. Today, another bright spot, the organ grinder.  He was a happy fellow and some even danced. Mary and I did not.

I've included a BW and color photo in a feeble attempt to please all of the readers all of the time. HA!

Paris Rouge - Le géranium

Église Saint Germain de Charonne

My, my, this brocante series is taking a life of its own.  Two days ago I posted a photo of the grande brocante in the 20 éme that Mary whisked me to.  That led to yesterday's post of the boy serving mint tea and sweets there.  Mary commented that although we didn't buy anything ( except tea) that I did get the good shot of the red geranium in the little church cemetery so all was not lost.  You see where this is headed.  Today, I *repost one of my favorite Paris Rouge shots.  Tomorrow, I might just find a few more and make a week of it!

* As we all know, but just don't talk about, I am guilty of reposting photos from time to time.  I thank you for your patience and understanding.

La Grande Brocante

Mary and I struck out for a grande brocante in the 20 ème one Saturday.  I'll admit we were sorely disappointed in the offerings.  This was the one and only item I would have paid for if I'd been able to get this vintage case of pétanque balls in my carryon.  Oh the stories they could tell.

100 French Strangers - Thé à la Menthe

French Stranger #71

Last summer ma chère amie Mary took me on a wild goose chase ( I have no idea what THAT would be in French) to the 20 eme for the Grand Brocante.  As I've shared previously, it left a lot to be desired but what it lacked in fine French antiques to be had for a song, it made up for with delightful people that we met along the way.  This young boy was selling hot mint tea and baklava.  Mary and I of course had to have some as he was just a delight as you can see here.
