Pont des Arts Avant

This taken in June, 2010, you can see a few locks behind this musician.  Now......there is no space left as the locks of love have covered every single inch of this lovely bridge.  Hopefully,  the city of Paris will soon remove them all as they pose a huge weight on the bridge and also block the view of the Seine.  I vote to have them gone!

I vote to have them all gone too V. One day all the locks on all the bridges around the world will find their missing keys and be free.

I quite agree. A real eyesore. It could take a while to remove them though! We were on Senghor footbridge (ex-Solférino) on Sunday and it's being overtaken as well, but I don't mind because I don't find it attractive anyway and there is no risk of the weight of the locks causing the fence to fall into the Seine.

I find them to be visual clutter, and the result of self indulgent people who don't seem to grasp that these bridges are not theirs to do with as they like.

I vote for total removal as well! But this nice musician can stay. Was he posing for you, V—or did you "grab" this shot?
