Now that I think about it, this should have been a series that I started in 2009 when I was lucky enough to see Paris through Eva and Davis' eyes. We spent three weeks in Paris with them and what I love the most is that although Davis was almost 4 and Eva was 7 1/2, they still to this day remember so much about that trip. This afternoon, we joined our Birmingham friends the Wilsons, who were lucky enough to be staying in an apartment at the Palais Royal. The adults sipped wine, while the four children did what I'm sure many, many Parisian children have done... played Follow The Leader around the Pol Bury Fountain, dug around in what I call "white Paris dirt", splashed their hands in the fountains and Ethan threw rose petals in the air! A day when we were grateful that the summer days are so long in Paris!

Café Nemours
The waiters in Paris never waste a minute. It seems they are in constant motion.

Un journal, svp
I would imagine Monsieur buys his paper here every day. I love that Paris has kept these old kiosques.

Paris Rouge - Un tabouret
I've brought you to Losco's in the Marais, several times. They sell only fine leather belts and a wide assortment of fabulous buckles. I've been allowed photos in the past but this day Madame gave me a limit of two photos but I negotiated a little and got four. Ahhh the French. Regardless, you must stop in and if nothing else have a look at the workbench along the wall and breathe in the rich smell of leather.

If you are lucky enough to be checking into the Four Seasons George V Hôtel in Paris, you will most certainly notice the over the top floral displays that they are known for.

Mon Nouvel Ami Francis
My entire stay in Paris last January was spent looking longingly through the windows of Hotel Costes Roses Dani Roses' gorgeous shop. They were always closed. I knew I had to get inside for my magazine assignment so I got up bright and early (for me) our last day and walked the two blocks down rue St. Honoré determined. I had tried to set up an appointment via email prior but we never set a date so I waltzed in prepared to negotiate. The gentleman in the shop tried his best to contact someone to give me permission and finally told me he couldn't allow photos as he was not in charge. He asked me to come back later that day. At about 5:30, as the sun was setting, I slid in the door, introduced myself and this lovely man whose name was Francis looked at me and said, "Madame, I have been waiting for you all day!". On that note, he so very kindly moved vases, helped me set up shots and could not have been kinder. While I shot, I noticed he was wrapping some roses and I thought it was for a delivery. Non, they were for me. When I thanked him for his kindness, he handed me the bouquet and said, "For your last night in Paris." A Paris moment I will never forget. I walked the blocks back down St. Honoré feeling like the luckiest girl in Paris.

Paris avec les enfants
If you are planning a trip to Paris with children, le Jardin d'Acclimatation should be at the top of your list. It has the charm of a small amusement park with rides, a playground, small petting zoo, gardens and not to mention the deal little boat ride! This day we were joined by our Birmingham friends, the Wilsons and a good time was had by all. Notice the height of that rope Tour Eiffel! That's Eva on the far right with Katherine, Ethan in the front and Davis on his way up on the left.

Sunday Church Series - The American Cathedral in Paris
The American Cathedral in Paris is a beautiful and welcoming church in Paris. The services are in English and I've worshiped there often.

Asleep On The Job
Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, centrally located near the Eiffel Tower is a wonderful museum that I have visited several times. This day, I think we caught the guard.... off guard!
( And in case you're wondering, these were huge black lemons!)

Today I share a photo from 2009. I've entered this image along with many more in Art Takes Paris. Forgive my shameless self promotion but I would love to win this contest for obvious reasons. If you have a minute, please give me a vote. Merci beaucoup mille fois mes amis!
