Falafels

Apparently the shop that sells falafels in the Marais, does a booming business.  Students especially queue up halfway down the street waiting their turn at the window to order.  We spotted this group who decided to just picnic on the sidewalk late one afternoon.

One thing I can tell is we cannot sit like this on the streets; why? because the temperature in 40+degrees outside ! I have always envy countries with 4 seasons, I know the summer maybe sometimes really hot and dry in some countries, but the mild-weather days really allow you to sit outisde like this people !

Carla dear, you are the one that told us about them! Is it Chez Marianne?

Kate, that's funny! This is not where they purchased the falafels however.

Elizabeth, it's Julia's theme from Julie and Julie. Scroll down to the player and you can see the playlist. :)

You can always tell if a place is a good place to eat by the number of people who eat there. Great shot. I love chickpeas...these sound wonderful! :)

Our local falafel stands are the same way! What is it about falafels? I'll have to try one of those things someday.

Did they queue up at L'as du Falafel, then take their yummy food somewhere on rue des Rosiers to enjoy it? (That's what my kids and I did last time we were in Paris. And even though we had an apartment about two doors up the street, my girls insisted on consuming their meal exactly like these kids did!)

It looks like they're blocking the door so no one can get in and eat all the falafels before them.

What? That is nuts.

I´ve never queued up for the falafels in Rue des Rosiers but every time I pass by I think "One day I´ll do it". BTW, I usually see a lot of people eating in the streets, on the benches in the parks...

I wonder if they are Spanish - I've noticed that Spanish students are always sitting on the ground! I suppose with the heat in Spain it's something they can do quite comfortably not like here in damp old Ireland!
