If The Truth Be Known...

THIS is the reason I return to photograph Paris, over and over.  Of course, I love the shots I find in shops, cafés, store windows, and churches, but this is what I'm always searching for...  the street photographs.  The images are elusive and the cache at the end of a week in Paris is pretty slim, but very satisfying.  One thing I've had to accept is that my street images might not be the sharpest or with perfect light and composition.  My online photography group has taught me recently that with street photography that is to be expected....and accepted.  Thank you my Photographers' Classroom colleagues for taking that albatross from around my neck!

I love this one and I am delighted that the many seem to agree on one thing: they do not need to be sharp to convey the message or atmo

I always think that's part of the charm - and perhaps 'one's style'. Glad to know about Photographers' Classroom! I'm going to check it out.

The atmosphere you've captured and created here is really gorgeous, dear V. Your pickings might be slim but the quality is beautiful.

Deux amoureux... c'est touchant.

Pictures don't need to be always technically perfect; WHAT you show may be most important than HOW you show it.

Ah! What a story lies in this image. The romantic in me says 'Amour'. The slightly blurred effect is delightful and adds to the total charm V.

This one pulls at my heart strings making me want to be in Paris to see the street scenes first hand. Until then I thank you for this blog and this photo.

Having Louis Armstrong singing La Vie en Rose in the background made this photo special.

Oh, dear Virginia, I love immensely your shots like this. The street picks meant to be impro, not staged, that what makes them so unique. Slight imperfection in fact adds to the charm. In this one framing, B & W light and the story are so touching. Thank you.

its all about the imagery and mood more than about clarity/composition

This one's a beauty, V, on so many levels. And thanks to you—I feel so much better about some of my shots. Makes sense that "spontaneous" and "flawless" don't necessarily belong together

Wonderful capture, Virginia. Le monsieur et la dame are very touching, but I also like how the only color spot in the shot is that bicycle sign. Would you mind telling me more about your online photography class when you get a chance? Merci beaucoup. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Great shot, but am wondering at the woman on the outside and the man walking on the inside...very interesting...cause he has a cane maybe?

There's something that's very clear about this image Virginia and that is that in Paris (and everywhere hopefully!) romance is alive and well! Perfect image.
