The windows and stores are a delight at Christmas but don't forget to look up! So many of the streets are strung with the most amazing lights. Here on rue Montorgueil is a wonderful example. If memory serves, we were headed straight for Stohrer and a gallette des roi!

it's beautiful! really :)
Noël est la période la plus jolie à Paris avec les illuminations!
Pour manger la galette des rois...il faudra attendre le mois de janvier! En décembre, à Noël, c'est la bûche qui est sur la table!
That's an exceptionally pretty way to work up an appetite, V.
Festive!
Cluadine,
Oui, janvier 2010. l'umières de Nöel toujours en place!
BIG SIGH
I haven't had a galette des rois, I prefer the Bûche de Noël
Christmas lights and Stohrer—and Paris? I think I just got a case of the vapors!
So magical. I wish we had these in my city.
Well, today is my birthday (no applause please!) and exactly ?? years ago, I was in Paris for my 30th birthday (you didn't really think I was going to own up to my real age today, did you?) I remember the store window displays, animated and sparkly. I remember the cold. I remember going to the ballet at the Paris opera house and ogling the fabulous ceiling, I remember walking to the Left Bank with two friends I had made at the youth hostel after the ballet (I was traveling alone). While we were walking to our dinner...we noticed a lot of women on the street, in the doorways...paying a lot of attention to the guy in the group...yep!!! We realized we were walking through the red light district!!! Oooops!!
Very beautiful!
