La Grand Roue - Je n'ai pas le courage

As the Christmas season begins, Paris does what she does best, dresses to the hilt!  First she decks out the store windows in every imaginable delight, then she drapes herself with a zillion strings of lights .  As if that weren't enough, up goes the grand roue at Place de la Concorde.  I will share more photos in the weeks to come.  For now, try to imagine taking a ride and seeing Paris from above. Some of you might ask if I've had the pleasure. Well non, non et non.  There have been those that have tried to persuade me.  Je n'ai pas le courage!

That actually looks like a pretty stable shooting platform. I'll go with Petrea, and you buy the tickets, V -:)

Happy Thanksgiving!

A wonderful composition with a large frame, I like the softness of the tones.

When I visited Paris in 2004 I found 10 euros on the ground so I ran to the Roue and paid my 8 euro fee and up I went!

It was fantastic-the buckets are like little cages and very strong so you couldn't fall out and the views are incredible!

My most favorite foto I ever took is of La Grande Roue.

Virginia -- I am going to consider this, but would hope that the cage would not prevent me from taking a photo. I would be tres disappointed if I paid my Euros and then could only take a photo of the grill. Hummmm..

I love this photo which you successfully captured without taking on la grande roue.

(War Eagle back at ya!)

Genie

Shell, you can ride with me and Chuck. I hope there's room for the three of us and our cameras!

No way I would ever ride a ferris wheel or roller coaster .. we can both stand on the ground and snap the scene

We rode it the only time we were there while it was in the Tuileries. Fantastic views of the city. BTW: here's something you might want to check while you're there... http://tiny.cc/l3por
