Bustling!

Well Genie at Paris and Beyond started it here.  Then Laurent over at Daily Photo in Paris turned on the lights here. Today, I can't compete with their gorgeous perspective, but I thought I'd show you what it's like at the Place de la Concorde after dark from another direction.  Even at night,  the traffic is still whizzing by, but I love it.  The obelisk, the fountain, the lights... it's magical.   Oh and that's the Hôtel de Crillon to the left. I wouldn't mind a glass of champagne there one day........

Well, it's good you caught that photo when you did because at the moment, the front of the Hotel Crillon is covered in scaffolding for some major work.

I wouldn't mind a glass of champagne anywhere today, V. :) There's a lovely sense of anticipation here.

Encore un quartier de Paris qui a du charme ...même la nuit !

I was there last night, alone ... and no champagne! :-(

Yesterday was when the Champs Elysées got its Xmas illumination!

Well, this shot really rounds out the group and gives perspective of the enormous Place de la Concorde. (I thought that it had UFOs in it)

Can't wait to see Champs Elysées with all its lights...

And this is why it's the city of lights! I love the way the columns are illuminated. I'm ready for that glass of bubbly!

How nice to add your perspective on the subject! I'm glad that you require so little sleep - more photos for us to see. I definitely need to get out more after dark.

Peter, you're breaking my heart! HA Quelle dommage. Let's save our euros and go for a glass in janvier. I have no idea how much it will cost. Will we have to share a glass peut-être?? :)

Harriet,
Of course you must roam at night. That's when Paris is the most beautiful.

M and Shell,
Every opportunity for champagne is explored!

Merci Claudine

Anne,
Something is always under renovation, oui?

Laurent,
I am glad you approve. Thanks for your link to mine as well. I have another you know that I will post soon.

Wong,
Thank you so much.

Genie,
You started it !HA This isn't the photo with the UFO's I discovered when it loaded.

We tried to get a taxi in front of the Hôtel de Crillon. Forget it. The drivers see the hotel doorman, and you have no chance. So we opted for the bus.

I am starting to saving now, the Champagne is on me when I get there

Starman,
Taxis are hard to come by aren't they!

Daryl,
You're on Sistah!

I've just discovered your blog (via Peter, I think, and/or Genie or Laurent!?) -- you are all brilliant photographers and I'm so excited to explore your blogs further.

Love this photo. Yesterday we caught the 72 bus outside Le Crillon, covered as it is in scaffolding ... we wondered if it's being 'sand-blasted' or cleaned or something, to emerge fresh and clean sometime next year?

Cheers and again I look forward to exploring your lovely blog and photos.
