Recently our blog friend Katie (Katiefornia) has been frolicking around Paris and posting some yummy treats she's been buying on a regular basis at Stohrer's. Established in 1730 by the former pastry chef at Versailles, it has been one of Paris' most revered patisseries ever since. It is located on rue Montorgueil in the 2 ème. Katie's photographs resulted in yet another delightful Shellsherree original. Today I follow along in Katie and Shell's fine footsteps ( am I a copy chat?) and show you my photos of this beautiful shop as well. Now, it's time to get back to my book..... Oh, my, my, my! You are absolutely not a copy chat, Virginia, hee hee. We're at the mercy of Katie's infectious frolicking. I'm sorely tempted in more ways than one when I look at your lovely glimpses here.
This is where I will meet Paule Calliat in a few weeks. We will shop this area then go back to her kitchen to cook a beautiful meal together! Very exciting.....

Oh makes me hungry ..
When we were in Paris, we noticed that most of the people were slim; or slimmer than most Americans...yet they eat all kinds of wonderful bread and cheese, drink all kinds of wonderful wine and pig out on all kinds of delicious chocolate.
Something's wrong here. ;-)
Jacob,
It's not fair really. I think their secret is not "pigging out" on anything and they walk, walk, walk walk!! I'm just glad i never went inside Stohrer because I would have been sorely tempted!
Thank you for taking me back to the city of my dreams. I studied inParis 29 years ago. I left part of my heart and soul there. I do hope to go back.
I forgot to mention, what is up with the guy in the knee socks?
M
Well I thought it was boots and shorts. Now I think it is knee socks and a long coat. Yee gads, I think i found a Parisian flasher! And it was AUGUST, who wears a wool scarf in August? Oh I forgot, they do in Paris. Whew!
I wonder if he is the one that flashed me at the Sacre Cour back in 1994? HA!

Delish....Have a wonderful weekend, xv.
Are you trying to start a mad rush to Paris?
There is this wonderful golden glow that emits from les boulangeries et les patisseries en Paris...so warm, so welcoming.
Oh how this photo reminds me of golden moments of finding these golden glows not only in Paris but throughout France!
Merci!
DW,
i'm so pleased that my photos evoke fond memories of Paris for you. They certainly do for me as well. Bittersweet!

Vicki,
I think this is a place that you might have in your new book, French Essence??? I can't wait to get my hands on a copy! Thank you for your visits and comments. I so enjoy your blog!

Great play on words, Virginia!!!
It's almost afternoon tea time here and I'm peckish, so I dropped back to press my nose up to the glass encore. :) And thanks again to Cali for sending me her lovely photo of the facade that I drew, following on from Katie's frolicking amongst their pastries... I can feel yet another Stohrer drawing in my bones when I look at your photos, V!
Sigh. I miss Paris, and I miss my daily trip to Stohrer!
