Le pain

I always enjoy seeing the place where small Paris restaurants slice their bread. There are always the obligatory straw baskets and the always fresh baguette sliced just before it's served. This is the lovely old bar and restaurant, A la Pomponnette, depuis 1909. If you are in the Montmartre area I highly recommend. One of the best meals I've had in Paris for a very reasonable price.

A wonderful, atmospheric photo. I can practically smell the bread baking!

Bread has always been a part of french meal. My mother was french ! When my ant, living in Paris, came to visit as in Switzerland, she was going mad because my mother never put bread on the table. Allez savoir pourquoi !
Nous n'avons pas pris cette habitude, le pain ne me manque pas à table.
