Le Chef

Genie and I arrived VERY early last November. It was so early, that after we got settled in our flat, we decided that a nap was in order.  Let me add that I NEVER nap when I arrive in Paris, but we did. When we woke up, it was about 11:00 a.m. Paris time, so we headed towards Bon Marché and found a nice little café.  As I recall, we had omelletes, salades et pain. Perhaps wine was involved.  From our table we were able to observe le chef. I am always amazed at the wonderful food that the French produce in a kitchen the size of my walk in closet. Vive la France!

Virginia; couldn't follow your blog as much as I'd have liked - but this lovely, lovely little story caught my attention. What a delightful story you tell - and you're right, French cooks have to make do with very little space. I often wonder who they manage to create so many different meals at literally the same time in spaces that we would complain to have to work in!
Thank you for this beauty; made my afternoon

You capture the life of Paris just right, Virginia.

I love your Paris people pics too, V! That looks about the size of my NYC kitchen—maybe I should invite a French chef over to see what miracles he can perform. :~}

It was delicious, as is every first meal back in Paris. Wine? You bet there was wine involved!

Great photo trip with new friends and new places. That's what keeps us going back.
