Le plus grand cimetière

Paris' largest resting place, Cimetière du Père Lachaise, bien sûr.  If you are going to be in Paris for a while, this is the one you should see. If a short visit, there are many other smaller ones that you can visit.

I can't imagine anyone making a cemetery a major thing to see. Père Lachaise is interesting, but it's not a major attraction.

This photo makes it look like a miniature village.

It took 7 trips before I finally got there & I'd love to return & spend more time. Really fascinating.

Unlike Starman, I always go to Père Lachaise when I'm in Paris. Naturally, it's not to everyone's taste, but I love it! (And your photo captures the atmosphere so well, V.)

A very ominous atmosphere in this one. Good decision to go with B&W.

Even though I have been to Paris several times, I have never been to Pere Lachaise. This needs to be remedied!
