La statue de la liberté

She stands at Pont Grenelle, facing the original.  A lovely tribute this day from the city of Paris.

With the numerous American veterans resting peacefully on French soil, this seems appropriate . . . . .

Too bad it doesn't mean what it used to. 4 July - a day of National Mourning!!

I disagree, Starman. There are still many things to celebrate about the United States. Sorry you can't see that.
Virginia, I'm reading the novel Paris by Edward Rutherfurd and one of the characters is doing metal work on the hand of the Statue of Liberty. The one that was sent to New York. Fascinating to get insights on how it was made.

What an unpleasant comment from Starman. I have no idea who he is. Fortunately, he doesn't read my blog. I hope it stays that way.

I love that she lives in both cities, dear V. And I look forward to visiting her in both someday! Happy belated 4th July to you and yours.
