Les Fleuristes

I will be visiting a lot of these this trip. I'm on a magazine assignment to shoot flowers in Paris!

What a wonderful assignment ... I saw a little florist near Rue St Honoré ... and was so impressed I went in and told the elderly Monsieur in slow and halting French .. that I thought he had the most beautiful shop in all of Paris. He was delighted and thanked me profusely. I was so pleased I made the effort.

You will not run out of florist shops to visit in Paris, that's certain. Have fun; work well; and enjoy Paris, Virginia. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Flower shops in the winter would make me very happy indeed -- a reminder of all things to come!

I can't think of anything better that shooting pictures of flowers. I never get tired of looking at them and especially in the dead of winter. :)

Stay warm!

I'm curious. What kind of magazine assigns a photographer to shoot flowers in Paris in the winter?

That ought to keep you very busy, V. How did you snag such a swell assignment? Oh, wait—you're a great photographer, that's how! Love the way they've lit these blooms.

Congratulation on your assignment. What a wonderful task as the the French are very creative with flowers. Bisous

I have the same question as Starman above. (Maybe there are a lot of winter-blooming camellias in Paris...) Or is the assignment specifically to photograph cut and potted flowers for indoor use?

Looking forward to your shots of Paris under snow, Leslie in Portland, Oregon

I wish I had your assignment :)

OK, sweet Virginia, make the rest of us feel inadequate that no one is even sending us to the next block on assignment.

I'm not questioning anything. I'd be happy to be sent to Paris to shoot the crumbs from the baguetts. lol

Good for you! Look forward to seeing the pictures.

I DO envy you for this job - I must have hundreds of pics of flower shops, boutiques, stalls.... You mustn't forget the lovely and always thrilling AU NOM DE LA ROSE shops, a small chain with only roses and always a wonderful display - inside and out!

Some wonderful comments! Thank you all :)

Do send me a mail saying when exactly you'll be in Paris; I might be around and we could have a natter and a glass of wine together...! What do you say?!

See you soon?! Love, Kiki

How did you manage that? An assignment to pay (hopefully) your way to such a wonderful place. It sounds more like fun than a job.

How I envy you your opportunity to be paid to go to Paris. Do have some fun times with your friends and I'm looking forward to your new photos. I'll be there in September of this year so I shouldn't complain but wouldn't it be fun to be your shadow on this trip. Bon Voyage...Martha

Thank you all. I am being compensated and for that I'm very grateful and am excited about this new project. My way was not paid but I'm happy to finally make some money doing what I love.
