Eric Tenin, when we met in person for the first time in July, 2009. Now we are
old friends and I always enjoy seeing him when I'm in Paris. Here he is with his ever present moto!
Many of you, especially you
City Daily Photo readers and bloggers recognize this man. He's of course Eric Tenin, whose
Paris Daily Photo blog sparked the entire City Daily Photo blog community. I give Eric all the credit for my Birmingham Alabama Daily Photo, that I started on
June 20, 2008 and today marks the 1,611th post! The
CDP portal has been down for a few months and thanks to Julie and Peter, two very dedicated and hardworking bloggers, the new and improved portal should be up and running today. They have so kindly asked to include my Paris Through My Lens as well and I'm humbled, to put it mildly. Maybe it's only fitting that Paris Daily Photo was my inspiration to begin blogging and now my Paris blog joins this ever growing group. I hope you will visit the CDP portal often and with the click of your mouse, you can visit cities all over the world, large and small. I promise you will love your trip around the world each day, even in your bathrobe!

You know what Virginia? I actually discovered this photo on the newcitydailyphoto.org portal that has been live for... 5 minutes LOL (it's 9:51 am in Paris right now).
A very pleasant surprise of course - This photo is actually 3 years old which brings me back in time - a nice feeling!
You are one of the many people I have had the pleasure to meet and appreciate - and keep in touch with - thanks to this CityDailyPhoto "movement" and I'm very thankful for it. Who would have thought that when I was offered this camera in 2005 and did not know what to do with it, I would turn it into a very rewarding activity? (Oh yes, and time consuming too ;-)).
Anyway, thanks for this post and see you soon in Paris! (Unless I go to Birmingham before, but that is very unlikely!)
Hi V. Thanks for filling me in on the history of the CDP and introducing Eric Tenin. I will hop over to the portal and check it out. J.
I can trace most of my online pals {including you!} back to Eric and PDP and I'm so grateful to him! And I have such admiration for all those in the City Daily Photo community ~ a post every day: what a tremendous ongoing achievement. {You and Eric together ~ I can only begin to imagine the mischief, dear V!}
Just popped back to say the portal is terrific. Congrats.
Fitting that I came to visit here from the new FANTASTIC portal.
I saw this photo via the new portal too! so exciting!
Eric the 'president' has visited Singapore too and that's where I met him! ;-)
what good news ...
Merci bien Eric. And about that trip to Birmingham, you don't know what you're missing. Just ask Bob Crowe and Daryl!!!
Shell, oh I'll have photos of the next mischief that goes on in Paris!
Joe, I thought you were a CDP member. Well you should certainly join us.
Jo and Kerapok Man, Yippee,it's working. I hope you'll come back often.
I'm off to check this out; wow! Over 1,600 posts!!
Bonjour from Seattle, Virginia. I follow Eric's blog as well and had no idea there were so many blogs out there dedicated to so many beautiful cities! And Eric was the first one then? Impressive. Congrats on joining the Portal and on running your Birmingham blog for that long! I must say I feel like I know your city a little better since I started looking at all your photos! Long life to your blogs, Eric's and the Portal! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
I am a frequent visitor of Eric's too and never knew about the Portal. I will zip on over to take a look. :)
The perfect photo to post today!
I'm in the club too—of folks who because of Eric started blogging and now have lots of wonderful blog pals, including Eric, I'm happy to say. And you too, V, though we have to work out the face-to-face thing one of these days! This whole post makes me happy.
This is exciting news. I didn't know there was a new CDP website. After complimenting you (and Eric) for today's fine post, I will head over there.
As I posted on Eric's blog, I know I'm late to the CDP party, but at least I made it! Thanks for the introduction.
Haven't yet met M. Tenin...maybe someday.
