Signes du Samedi - Le Grand Colbert

One of Paris' more famous restaurants, Le Grand Colbert has certainly stood the test of time.  I've not dined here,  but after reading the reviews I might have to put it on my list.

2 rue Vivienne

And today I join James' Weekend Reflections right HERE!

Talk about a beautiful way to reflect on Paris life... this is gorgeous, dear V. I hope you and Meeps are having a lovely weekend.

This reflection is surely cleverly captured. It adds so much glamour to the scene.

Gorgeous. The gold says "le luxe", and the brightness of the yellow against the grey in this photo brightened this graey rainy morning here for me. Thank you, Rita

Great reflection! This place looks very tres chic and I would bet a bit on the expensive side. Oui?

J'adore le Grand Colbert! It used to be a bit more affordable before "that movie" came out a few years ago... but... It is still a wonderful restaurant, in the tradition of the great Parisian brasseries. Lovely capture of the sign with the building across the street reflecting in the window... Haa, being there with Diane Keaton and Keanu Reeves .. (sigh) :o)
Great picture, you perfectly show the mood of the place!

I have dined there only once, with Janeen and Marie, and we were adjacent to Alan Alda. The food was very nice. The atmosphere and company (Janeen and Marie - hehe) were over-the-top fabulous.

Oh, those lights are to die for. Maybe even kill for?

Now that's a pretty spectacular reflection, V! I heard that they actually had to put roast chicken—touted as a specialty of the place by Diane Keaton in "that movie"—on the menu. But maybe that's just a rumor. :~}

Brings back fond memories of the time that Richard and I dined there on his first trip to Paris with me. It was right after the release of the movie and they had a book of photos that were fun to browse through. Your photo makes me want to return for another dinner there.

Nice image, Virginia. I like the way the lights seem to drip off the scene at the left.

I had to do some googling to find out what movie people were talking about. I was it, too, but with my declining memory, I don't remember much.

Oooo, the beautiful warm golden-ness of the lettering and the lights. I want to go IN and dine too. :)
