Je suis parfait

Some doors in Paris just beg NOT to be repainted. This is one of them.

To reach that point, this door had a long life, saw a lot and all kinds of things. The look it has today is its way to tell us stories..

I agree. However, if you give me the address, I will go and check and see what happened to the door after your visit. :-)

Hi V... I agree. It would be sacrilegious to paint this door. It has such character.. J.

Such colors & textures, it begged you to photo it & to share it with us! Merci! Rita

This door does beg, however, to be opened. I hope Peter gets a chance to try it out!

I couldn't agree with you more! Love the finish and door knocker on this one. :)

If something looks good, leave it alone! This door looks like it's received many, many visitors Virginia!

Aging with grace, not hiding the wrinkles and scars...
These doors are the storytellers indeed for those who can listen like you Virginia.
Me too never can just pass by without pausing for a sec.

Just beautiful. I'm trying to age my house in exactly the same way.

"Knock, knock, knocking..."

A fine find... hard to imagine though what was going on there, looks like they started to strip off the old paint, but stopped... Peter is right, this needs to be checked up on regularly, it may be evolving...

I love the orange, this image reminds me of Fall with the decaying paint and colours. Although it could also be the weather lately.

PS I have a new url, come visit and maybe even follow me - http://www.thewanderfulltraveler.com

Peter and Owen,
Je regrette that all I can remember is the Marais. Maybe you'll hunt it down for me?? :)

Ah but wouldn't you like to see what it used to be? a portal to the past? :)
