Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I'm planning on bringing out Paris Rouge II just before Christmas. It will be self published on Blurb, and I'm really hoping to meet the deadline for gifts for my family. Maybe you might want to have a look as well. Peter and I ducked into the Beaux Arts and discovered that the beautiful courtyard with statuary was under some restoration. Made for an interesting angle trying not to include unsightly construction!

Spotted parked just inside the gates of l'École Nationale Supèrieure des Beaux-Arts, founded in 1648.

L'école

Thanks to Peter, we walked right in the gates of École des Beaux Arts like we belonged there. No one even seemed to notice us. That's the way we like it! For over 350 years artists have trained here. An amazing place.

These incredibly sculpted statues line a small courtyard at L'école des beaux arts. Peter took Mary and me last November. A beautiful place full of inspiration for the students. This was my runner-up for our City Daily Photo Theme of STYLISH on June 1st.

L'école Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts

 

One of the many advantages of our location in Paris last November was being just a few doors from l'école Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts, on rue Bonaparte.  Each time we walked past,  I peered through the gates but decided we wouldn't allowed inside.  Non! The day Peter joined us for a walk, he marched right through with Mary and me in tow.  I was a bit nervous that we might be thrown out on our ear, but Peter was right of course. We wandered about and took a zillion photos of this wonderful school. Thank you Peter for being our faithful guide and taking us to places in Paris we would not have the courage to find on our own.  There will be many more photos to come of this visit.

Just up the street from our apartment, we stopped in for a few sips now and then. Merci to the voiture rouge for adding another splash of my favorite color!

Le Bonaparte, soon to be my neighborhood! I took this last November while waiting for the bus just across the street.  Seems that this trip this will be my Paris "hood"!
