This was one of the four blue sky days I had the entire two weeks in Paris. I thought the chess players and the pétanque players would be out in droves but sadly, non. These hardy souls were about it.

Sunday is my favorite day, sure you get a lot of tourists, but you also get Parisians who flock there to enjoy the day in this beautiful place. Older couples nicely dressed making their way slowly, parents with children, toting bikes, trikes and scooters, and young couples publicly sharing their affections. Off the beaten paths, you will find chess and card players, pétanque games, as well as the favorite Parisian pastime of just sitting quietly and reading.

Sundays at the Luxembourg Gardens bring out Parisians of all ages. The pétanque players attract their own special followers. This couple stopped to enjoy.

Sunday at Luxembourg Gardens I spotted this young woman sitting in just the right spot to have the flowers compliment her pretty scarf and beret.

Paris Greeter

This lovely, smiling street musician was the official greeter the Sunday we visited Luxembourg Gardens last November. She returned his smile.

I find the spectators around the pétanque courts at Luxembourg Gardens  as interesting as the players! Every trip back to Paris, I find the time to come here and watch. Paris moments I treasure.

In the warmer months, there are always card and chess games going around the pavilions in Luxembourg Gardens. I love watching the men, of different ages and nationalities, share time together doing what they love to do.

My 100 Strangers has been featured in B-Metro, a Birmingham magazine, and they were kind enough to mix in my dear French strangers as well. I really can't express how much I've loved capturing the many delightful and interesting strangers I've met in France. Today I have two more for you. I am anticipating my return to Paris to try and find the rest!

I found this photograph in my archives and burst into smiles all over again. I walked up on this delightful grand-mère et sa petite-fille in Luxembourg Gardens last summer. What a find!!
