Écharpe perdue, trouvé

Back to Nemours today.  As we sat over coffee and tea my first day in Paris,  I was trying to capture the waiter rushing around, but spotted this lovely scarf through the glass door, draped over the coat rack. At first I thought it belonged with someone's coat but as the café thinned out and the coats were claimed I realized that someone had most likely found it on the floor and carefully hung up it to wait for its owner.  The French are thoughtful that way. I often see mittens or gloves that have been picked up and laid on a ledge or window sill in the hopes that it will be found again.

I have another reason for featuring Café Nemours today.  Recently I found some delightful black and white drawings of Paris on Etsy.  Artist Annie Poon's Nemours scene caught my eye and I purchased it.  Annie was kind enough to include an extra 8x10 print for a GIVEAWAY!  Thank you Annie for your generosity.  Now all you have to do is leave a comment if you want to enter. I'll draw a lucky winner on Thursday so come back then to see if  your name was drawn!

Déjeuner à Nemours

Funny, I rarely take photographs inside cafés or restaurants in Paris, but this was our last lunch in Paris last January and as always I felt this compulsion to snap every possible image of Paris before I had to say, "Au revoir".  This lunch over a Croque-Monsieur, salade et vin, proved to be a treasure trove of images. You have already seen many of them.  Today a photograph I love, mainly for all the details that I unknowingly captured.

Le Nemours en Janvier

Pardon. I know this photo was taken last winter. As most of you know, I just stroll through my photos, on almost a daily basis, to choose the photo of the day. Last night I was wandering again, and I found this, and it brought back many wonderful memories of Nemours... summer and winter. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Closed Due to Snow

As you know by now, I stayed within a few blocks of the Palais Royal on my last visit. The day after we arrived we were blessed with snow. On our way to the Palais Royal Metro stop, we passed Nemours. I have some very nice memories of champagne sipped here last summer. This day, the chairs were tipped and everyone had gone inside to warm up. The trees? Well all along the galleries of the Palais Royal and here as well, fresh green trees with no decorations were still up from Christmas. Perfect for the snow don't you think??

Oh happy day! Our dear Jilly that blogs from Menton AND Monte Carlo everyday is celebrating her Third Blog Birthday. Best wishes for many, many more years of your great photography from your lovely area, Jilly. My wish is that we will meet in person one day soon, and I can see your lovely part of France for myself! And now, it's time for Peter to pop the cork! :)

Café le Nemours

Located by the beautiful Palais Royal and Comédie Française, Café le Nemours is the perfect spot for a glass of bubbly on a warm summer afternoon, or anytime for that matter! Sit outside and admire the lovely view of Place Colette and the colorful Palais Royal-Musée du Louvre Metro station. Come back tomorrow to see that!!
