Shhhhhhhhhh!
Chats dorment, but don't worry, there are always plenty who are awake and awaiting a lap or some petting.

Été à Paris
I had to stop and laugh, then snap this photo. Spotted at a café at the Place des Vosges this sign caught my eye as it combined Southern ice(d) tea, Cuban mojitos and of course French glace et sorbet. Everyone's happy!

Le zinc
If you are lucky enough to find one, you are lucky indeed. Zinc bars have been around, according to this article, as early as 1873. This one in the Marais, caught my eye with it's marvelous detail glimmering in the light.

Bonjour Ya'll!
Imagine my surprise and delight when I stepped inside TREIZE - A Baker's Dozen and offered the obligatory, "Bonjour Madame!" and hear, "Hey, come on in!" Relief in a waythat I didn't have to do my constant, "Parlez vous anglais??" Instead I am greeted by owner Laurel Sanderson ( on the right) and her delightful staff behind the counter. While they made me feel at home with my camera, they continued chopping and dicing for their lunch menu. Behind them, le chef with the biggest grin I've
EVER seen Paris. Laurel hails from the south so we understood each other immediately. Some of the patrons enjoying a late breakfast vouched for the delicious fare. Trust me, if you get to the 7 eme, go see Laurel and her smiling staff. Tell 'em I sent ya.

TREIZE!
If you visited yesterday you know I found a passageway off rue des Saints Pères and investigated. What I thought was possibly an antique store at the far end, was really a delightful little shop called Treize, a baker's dozen ( note the clever signage). I will admit I spent quite a while outside photographing this charming exterior. Tomorrow, we step inside!

Café le pas sage
Passage du Grand Cerf is one of the nicer passages left in Paris. Cafe le pas sage is just across from the lovely florist Messages du Grand Cerf so this tiny table was the lucky recipient of this luscious vase of roses.

Très Parisian!
Today, we return to Paris from the countryside. For you Paris lovers I offer... the Café St. Regis. It has recently been sold and remodeled. I was a bit disappointed to hear from the waiter that all that looks "vintage" is faux. It is still a great photo op and we had a nice dinner there our last night.

Familiar Places
I stop by Ma Bourgogne overlooking the park at Place des Vosges every trip. This past January, Mary and I came screeching in for something warm to drink (for a change) in the afternoon of our last day. It was nice enough to sit right here. La vie est belle.

These pretty little café windows might have been painted for Christmas. Even though the paint was fading, I thought it added a cheerful touch.
