What???

Today is City Daily Photo Theme Day. The June theme is funny signs. I thought I'd share this one from Paris as well!

I must have walked past this ad on billboards in the Paris Metro a thousand times, and I can tell you I never quite figured it out. A Parisian amusement park that features an old steam engine, a Native American chief giving bow and arrow lessons, as tourists watch from their jeep in the middle of the desert! And as for that building, with Indians on horseback..... I give up!

BREAKING NEWS
Linda Donahue, editor of Parisien Salon.com, tells me I am the winner of the first Parisien Salon Photography Contest! I couldn't be more pleased. If you've not visited her site, you MUST!

It really brings the name 'amusement park' to life, doesn't it!

Baffling I totally agree? I love your banner today, it's a wonderful photograph!
But then ALL your photo's are stupendous!!

I have never heard of it but it seems to be a place with a lot of sand for very young kids. I admit it's not a very attractive ad.
I would certainly have preferred to go to the Champs Elysées, next ad on the right,

there's a lot of history here with the old steam engine and circa 1940's Jeep. Must be one heck of an adventure.

Congrats on winning the photo contest!

Apparently, the métro sign is meant to show some of the things that can be enjoyed at the parc.

Virginia, CONGRATULATIONS on being the 1st, first place winner in Parisien Salon's photo contest! i think your current title photo (Louvre at night) is also a winner.

A bit cold and rainy here at the moment so please bring some B'ham sunshine when you come...

Polly,
I just bought a brand new tiny umbrella, just in case the southern sunshine doesn't work. Vive la Paris! :)

Starman,
It appears that this place has a little something wonderful for everyone! I pray I never have to find out first hand!

Congrats on yet more well-deserved recognition. I agree that your photos are the best! Nice choice for the theme—I went to the website and I'm guessing this place was designed by guys who grew up reading Tintin and Lucky Luke comics.

La Mer de Sable... funny, contrary to what the sign says, it is not exactly at the doors of Paris, "Aux Portes de Paris", but well to the north of Paris, between Ermenonville and Senlis. I've never been there, I hear it's a real tourist trap, but right across the road from it is a place well worth visiting, which I have been to more than once, l'Abbaye Fontaine Chaalis, beautiful ruins there.

Love the sign, but I can't say I'll be putting this place on my list of places to visit. Congrats on the Parisien Salon win!

It's written "25 attractions and 4 spectacles".....Perhaps, publicists have tried to sum up many in one ad ! Who knows what's going on in mediocre publicists's head ?

In any case, I'm with you Virginia, concidering the number of ads I've seen myself, they need visistors !

Congratulations Virginia!
