Enjoying a Good Book
Yes, we're back at the Palais Royal today. I snapped this photo of these ladies just enjoying a warm summer afternoon with a good book. A Parisian pasttime that I plan to enjoy on my next visit. I can hardly wait!

Lucky ladies—and lucky you!
Do they really read book outdoors like this? Idyllic :)
Great photo, as always V. :o)
This is exactly the kind of thing I always plan to do before going to Paris. But then when I'm there, I just don't find the time to it. I'm usually there for a week, ten days max., and my "to do and go" list is never ending, so I'm always on the move - which I love (when it's in Paris).
My dream is to rent an apartment and stay in Paris for a longer period of time, like two or three months, and then being able to have days at home in the local quartier, go to a park to read etc etc...
I can imagine how excited you must be Virginia now your next trip is getting closer.
I'm looking forward to see all your new photos :o)
V!!! That almost looks like you in the foreground!!! I had to do a double take!!! Maybe it's a premonition!!!
Palais Royal ? I would have say Tuileries or Luxembourg ... did not remember that kind of chairs in Palais Royal gardens. Anymay, great shot Virginia and I'll order sun for you since this week is more like november ...
I had to do a double take Virginia because I thought the lady with the blonde hair and "lunettes de soliel" was me - then I realized she is too slim to be me.I've been eating too many macarons !!
great pic = captures the moment.
Dianne xx
Looks dreamy ~ as I haven't been to Paris at all yet, I'm not sure that I'd be able to sit still and read when I finally arrived. Maybe the following time. :)
Laurent,
Yes it is PR. Love those chairs!
Shsh,
I agree, it's taken a few visits before I think I can say I'd sit still long enough to read.
Lesya,
Oui, they read all over Paris in cafes, on the Metro but especially in the parks. Any time of day. It's delightful.
Bettina,
I say I will do this. We will see if I can actually set aside the time!
Puddinglane,
Oui, the macarons are hard to resist !
Chieftess,
I wish! :HA
Alexa ,
I am !
I think the woman in the glasses saw you .... and I bet you dont sit and read .. too much to see/snap!
I think it's the edge of the pond that makes it seem like the Tuileries, because until I read the caption, like Laurent, I thought it was there.
Yeah, I'm with the ladies above, I couldn't sit still long enough to read a book. I could stare at a tree or a statue for a while, but reading is out of the question.
Bettina, your dream is divine. You'll do it one day!
I just wanted to do it,too:)
