Mary and Mary drool over the desserts in the window!
I am experiencing computer and photo editing problems so my photos may leave a lot to be desired. Bear with me. Maybe when I'm no longer sleep deprived, I'll figure it all out.
Bonsoir from the frozen tundra, I mean cold but beautiful Paris. We arrived at about 9 this morning. Did we take a long nap? Of course not. We donned all our cute winter gear and hit the streets. We bought some groceries, visited 2-3 passages ( more on those later), had a good lunch and was joined by Peter who shared a glass of wine with us. Then the four of us struck out and walked all over Paris. When we became numb, we headed into shops and even toured Notre Dame, and Shakespeare and Co. After a warming cup of expresso, we walked back up to the Pompidou Center and ..........I can't remember what all. On the way back to the apt, we screeched into Strohrer where Peter bought a King Cake for us. Once back in the apt., we popped the cork on a nice bottle of champagne that he had brought and had a slice of cake. Well guess who got the gold charm? MOI, so I got to wear the gold crown. It's good to be the queen you know! If you can believe this, we wrapped back up and we all headed to Bistrot Victoires for dinner and more....... well you know! A great great first day in Paris!

I would dearly love to be sightseeing in Paris today....even if it is a frozen tundra! Can't be as bad as Arkansas, USA.....low is 8 yes 8 degrees tonight!!!
Can't wait for more of your beautiful photos!
since it is cold in NY & it is cold in Paris, I think I would rather be in Paris!
you sound like you had an excellent first day.
We are happy to see with all that is going on, you still managed to post from Paris!
Out here on the left coast, we had a little Kings Cake, aussi. «Louis» is pleased to see you also made your way to Stohrer!
Ahhhhhhhhhh, you lucky, lucky, lucky girl! Thanks for your pics; just love it!
P.S. I've just traced my GG-Grandfather to his birthplace in the beautiful Loire valley!! xa
Sounds exhausting, V. Looking forward to the passages. Good to see your travelling companions, too.
Oooooh ~ I'm so excited for you, V!!! Mary and Mary look very cool in their warm gear ~ and that's not always easy to do. What a gorgeous first day you've had ~ and a crown to top it all off. Sweet dreams!
Make way for Queen V!
What a memorable first day. Feels like you never left, hein?
How do you do it!!! No jet-lag at all.....amazing. Love hearing the details of your day.
What a wonderful day! I'd be right there pounding the pavement with you. Who needs sleep?
Don't forget to get the girls some thing Parisy for birthdays!
SO exciting to hear about your first day in Paris. And I see you're following my jet-lag cure of eating lots of pastries! How fun you got the charm in the Stohrer King Cake. Yipee for you!! Stay warm and keep us up to date on your Parisian adventures!
Hey, we can all sleep when we're dead! I'm green with envy but so glad that you're sharing your latest Parisian adventure with us. Can't wait to hear more.
Where is the apt.?
I'm impressed by your jet-lag prowess. Imagine what you can do once you've had some sleep! There won't be any arondissements left after tomorrow!
My God, I'm exhausted just reading about it, let along doing it and in the cold. Of course, it all sounds wonderful and good for you getting the gold charm! Pics look just fine to me...!
What a first day ! I hope you'll enjoy the snow today !
That sounds like a perfect first day. I'm looking forward to learning about the following ones.
How I miss Paris...

What a wonderful first day! I can't wait to see all the photos to follow.
Just say no to jet lag!! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time -- by now you've probably had a good night's sleep and are hitting the (cold, cold, COLD!) city streets again. Stay warm, drink lots of chocolat chaud!
JEALOUS
here the King cake had but a teeny plastic baby inside... and the cake, from New Orleans, isn't up to sharing with Champagne!
You left me breathless. All in one day? It sounds absolutely fantastic.
(M&M have some nice winter togs.)
ahhh, all sounds very familiar, and very wonderful! Keep the stories and pictures coming, so we can spend the Paris winter along with you!
Galette de Roi.
I hope it warms up a bit for you.
Starman,
Thanks for the right words. I was tired, and had had more than a few sips last night! ha
Merci everyone. We have had another great day and awoke to snow settling on Paris. How did I get this lucky?? The photography gods are smiling.
v
You know what, Hiker? We ought to take a day to do Pasadena the way tourists do.
V, I also meant to tell you that your banner photo relates very well the cold temps that you are telling us about.
I believe that if one drools before one actually consumes French pastry, it actually converts the caloric content to zero!!!
What a fabulous first day. And, you got the crown too!! Wow.
