Un Pot de Moules

I just love reader requests. It makes my job so much easier. My dear StyleSpy mentioned moules last Thursday, and it reminded me that I had a few photos buried somewhere from a delicious déjeuner in Troyes, France! Voilá!

I realize now that I've had a few food photo shoots under my belt, that the top photo would have been a little better had I taken the photo BEFORE I plowed through half the pot but well..... I didn't. The bottom photo is all that remained...a pile of empty shells. Style's right, the creamy, garlicky, buttery juice is trés magnifique. Now I'm thinking a steaming pot of moules might be just the thing on a cold blustery day in Paris! Et peut-être un peu vin chaud??

I'm glad you didn't allow that creamy, garlicky, buttery juice to cool down while you took a photo, Virginia. :)

You've just reminded me, we haven't had moules yet. 4

Perfect! Am already looking forward to the moules I plan to have for dinner when I get back to NYC tomorrow night. Meanwhile, these look super -- and thanks so much for yesterday's glorious photo too! So glad I discovered your blog, Virginia.

Yum! This looks almost exactly like what we had for Christmas dinner. I'd happily join you in Paris on a blustery day for a pot of these and a bottle of wine!

Yum! There is a Brittany style restaurant in the 7th that has these as its specialty, and you are bringing back good memories with your wonderful shots! When you come to Seattle I will have to take you for some Penn Cove mussles (and you ARE going to get yourself out to Seattle one of these days, aren't you? !!! :-)

I didn't realize that you were still posting Paris shots after you returned, so it is a real treat to come here and go back through your archives. I needed a Paris fix :-). I love your shots and appreciate the labor of love it must be to post two blogs daily. Superwoman!!
thanks V.

You can have «Louis'» share of les moules....
He won't mind at all....
In fact, he'll thank you for taking them off his hands...

Like your new banner shot. What building is that in the background?

I'm glad that you take a zillion photos when you're in Paris because I really love seeing them!

Harriet,
I"ve no idea. The best I remember it was near Notre Dame and Hôtel de Ville. I was with Meredith Mullins doing our sunset walkabout in the area. We were on Ile St. Louis. Don't worry. I have the laptop and I'm ready to blog from Paris!

Louis,
I'll happily eat your share of les moules! May I have your wine as well? :)

kim,
I'd LOVE to come visit you in Seattle. We might persuade some friends to join us! :)

Eleanora,
Welcome and please visit often. I must look at your blog as well. I hope to get to Italy one day.

Katie,
I'd love nothing better than to see Paris with you my friend. We must!!!

Alexa,
Lucky you getting them in NYC! Are they as delicious??

Starman,
Well what are you waiting for?? And about the reduced champagne prices, that's a stroke of luck pour moi! Save me a glass. Hope to see you soon.
Salut!!!

Hker,
Ummmmm.........YES YES YES! But everytime I look at the petite valise sitting in the corner, it's shrunk again! Ye gads!!

Shsh,
That delicious juice makes you want to turn up that pot and just drink it down......but I'm too much of a lady to do THAT! HA

That is the trouble with being a foodie and food photographer; it is difficult to refrain from eating before the photo session.

How about escargot pics? And of course, inside a boulangerie. If you find yourself at Poilan's, you must snap a pic of their world famous Miche!

Rob,
There are some escargot shells! that I posted last summer. We had them polished off before i could think to grab a camera. Poilane?? You're on. Can't wait. I want a tartine there as well for lunch!
