Amis à Paris

Remembering a delightful afternoon at the Palais Royal with our Birmingham friends the Wilsons. The kids played in the dirt and ran up and down the arcade. This must what it feels like to be a Parisian kiddo every day!

As we walked from the Mètro through the Palais Royal, we found a few families strolling there as well. This girl was playing a game with her brothers among the Buren Columns and these fabulous columns as well.

I've posted this petit garçon previously playing among the Buren Columns.  Today a quiet moment. I suspect he was actually looking through the grate to the water below.

Les souvenirs II - Paris Dirt

Yesterday I shared a photo of Eva and Davis, along with our Wilson friends from Birmingham,   as they shared a great afternoon at the Palais Royal,  doing what kids do.... even in Paris.  Later, they decided that the white, powdery Paris dirt in the gardens would be a good place to make a little village. I have a feeling Eva and Davis now feel the same way as their Mumsie about the Palais Royal!

Soccer au Palais Royal

Imagine being a young boy living in Paris. On Wednesdays you are out of school,  so you are free to meet up with your friends for a quick pick up game of soccer.  Where do you play? Why the Palais Royal of course.  Be careful that you don't kick you ball into the Pol Bury Fountains!!!!

I will confess to stalking the precious children in Paris. I'm shameless. Sometimes I even crop their siblings or parents out of the photograph!   It was a chilly afternoon at the Palais Royal. This curly headed cherub had a biscuit tight in his fist and a car in the other. What a delightful playground.

Mercredi at the Palais Royal II

Back in November 2008, I took a walk to the * Palais Royal and found this delightful scene.  School's out in Paris on Wednesdays so the children take advantage of some much needed free time.  I can't imagine how wonderful it must be to take a ball and go to the Palais Royal for a quick soccer game with friends!  As Peter and I left our green chairs by the fountain,  I spotted yet another group of fun loving boys. I think the boy on the left could be one that I photographed 3 years ago. Maybe, but still nice to see this group having such fun in such an historic place.

* For you that are very familiar with the Palais Royal, you might have spotted the temporary walls around the Pol Bury fountains.  More on that later!

C'est Irrésistible!

Little boys and water.  These handy green fountains, found in all of the parks in Paris are a kid magnet.  This petit garçon was spotted at the Palais Royal bien sûr !
