Quiet Corner of Paris - Place Dauphine

Place Dauphine, located on Ile de la Cité, is a small, quiet square. Surrounded by a few cafés, I always make a point to stop by. Once or twice I've found some pétanque players but most of the time, it looks just like this. I almost hesitated to share this info so as to keep it on the down low, but wanted you to have the pleasure as well.

Marché aux Fleurs

The Paris flower market is open daily,  although  on the weekends you'll only find potted plants. Cut flowers can be bought during the week at the various shops clustered along the Seine, on île de la Cité,

Belle Vue

The view from Square du Vert-Galant,  at the tip of Île de la Cité is very special. It's usually quiet and being so close to the Seine is a lovely experience.

Les balustrades

Next time you're near Notre Dame, pop in to the Hôtel Dieu de Paris for a look. You won't want to check in as it's the oldest hospital in Paris (651).  You are free to roam around the inner courtyard and photograph. Hopefully you own't need their services!

Square du Vert-Galant

Square du Vert-Galant, located on the western tip of Île de la Cité at the Pont Neuf. It's lovely any time of year but especially in the fall.

Dimanche à Paris

If you are lucky enough to be in Paris on a Sunday, be sure to visit the Marché aux Oiseaux et le Marché aux Fleurs on Île de la Cité. This is a special treat if you are traveling with children as the Bird Market also offers, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. for them to pet. A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Paris.

Hôtel Dieu de Paris

Founded by Saint-Landry in 651, it's the oldest hospital in Paris. Located just across the street from Notre Dame on Île de la Cité, you've probably walked right past it. Next time go in and see this beautiful courtyard.

My Quiet Corner of Paris

I can't promise Place Dauphine is always this quiet, but this day, I had it all to myself. That's usually been the case. Maybe one day I'll return and find pétanque players or friends chatting on a bench. No matter, Place Dauphine is a very quiet, special corner of Paris for me.

Dimanche à Paris

Île de la Cité's Bird Market is always a good idea, open only on Sundays it's part of the Marché aux Fleurs. A lovely spot to walk through!

Square du Vert Galant

I think Mary used the term "stalking".  I prefer "observant."
