Portes des Mausolées V

If yesterday's doors were in my Top Ten, this might be Numéro 1. I love the soft color and the dried palm frond tucked in the grill.

La Croix

Thanks to my travel amie, Mary Gilbert, I've learned to love the beauty of Paris cemeteries. Mausoleums are particularly beautiful. This one captured at Père Llachaise. This cemetery, located in the 20th arrondissement, is the largest so plan to spend a long time there exploring this lovely resting place.

Le cimetière

It's no secret that I was not a fan of cemeteries until I started traveling with Mary Gilbert. Then,  between Peter Olson and Owen Phillps, I became a convert. This trip Mary and I will be traveling with our friend Phil Nuxhall, Cincinnati's Spring Grove Cemetery historian. Taking odds on how many I"ll visit?  Today, Cimetière du Père-Lachaise of course.

Le plus grand cimetière

Paris' largest resting place, Cimetière du Père Lachaise, bien sûr.  If you are going to be in Paris for a while, this is the one you should see. If a short visit, there are many other smaller ones that you can visit.
