In June I revisited Shakespeare & Co. I finally made my way to the back of the shop and up the stairs. Oh, it's a sight to behold. I will share more photographs with you, but today a charming view from the upstairs window. This if for my loyal reader Gary who requested some photos for his 5th grade students! I am always happy to honor reader requests when I possibly can.

A bit lame, if you ask me...
(Thinks: Oh, that was yesterday)
Le Girl
I definitely have to go there sometime!
It's nice to look out the window and be reminded of where you are. :)
Oh JB ,
You can't hide yourself in the cloak of anonymity! :)
Maya,
you haven't been? Awwwww!
Shell,
I think you're right!
Qui est sur ce tableau?
Claudine,
Shakespeare! :)
for a long time there was a Shakespeare & Co on Broadway/81st St .. when it closed it was very sad
I've been away and missed so many exciting photos!! Thankfully, I'm back to normal now.
JB (oh, Mr. Anonymous), tu es acidulé tout plein.
Virginia, love the Bard.
Oh, I am so going up those stairs next time! (And I think I'll stick with the barber—yikes!)
It that Mr. Whitman (or whatever his name was) who used to own it, in the video? When I was there in 1976, he used water from a vase of much-too-old flowers to cool off his soup. Yuck.
Thanks , Virginia, for dedicating this photo to me,and my students. I can't wait to see your other photos of Shakespeare & Co!! You truly honor me with your kindness!
Love and kisses,
ME
