My last trip I had a great little studio apartment on rue de la Cerisaie, just a few blocks from Place de la Bastille in the Marais. It was on the ground floor and my windows opened onto this sweet little courtyard. I share these nice memories with you today.

What a charming little courtyard! You are a fortunate woman, V.
May you have many more trips back to the City of Light, you have clearly been bitten by the Paris bug... (the Paris bug lives in the cracks between stones in courtyards like this all over the city, once bitten, the outcome is usually terminal... terminal affection for Paris !)
Alexa,
I was a dear little place. The hallway from the main door to my door was pretty "rough" but once inside the apt. was cute as could be. I loved opening the windows in by the kitchen table and seeing this every morning!
Owen,
So THAT"S what happens! HA Oui, the bugs have bitten me and the only cure is to return! Next trip you can take me to Picpus??
I believe I discovered your blog about that time although yo may have been in Atlanta. I felt a connection right away. I've only been to Paris for a week in 2004 - but it was Springtime - Easter weekend - and the trees were in blossom...need I say more? I am a follower and have you on my sidebar. Come visit sometime!
Very sweet ~ a pretty way to start and end the day.
Wonderful place and location! Would you please inform contact for a short stay renting?
Heleno,
email me and I will give you the owner's email address.
Shell,
It was!
Sheila,
I'm glad you enjoy my photos. Please come back often.
I love meeting all these new readers. Thank you all for following my adventures in Paris. I'm always so curious as to how you find me!
What a delightful view ...
Awwwwwwwwww - I remember that view! And the inside of the apt was so Euro-Girly-Chic! Post a shot of the interior sometime OK?
Votre petit appartement devait être très calme! Voilà encore un endroit très étonnant dans le Marais !
Mary,
They should have let us decorate! I will show some photos one day soon of the inside.
Claudine,
Oui, très calme et loin de la rue!
Virginia, that is very charming and you did not even have to sneak into the couryard to take your shot! Sorry that I missed your little apt.
I sooooo wanna experience Paris! I've never been, and yet I feel a kinship to it, because I've read so many stories, novels, etc. set in Paris. Ernest Hemingway, and F. Scott Fitzgerald have given me "the bug"!!
Any scholarships or support from anyone out there?? Ha!
Who wouldn't love a nice courtyard like that while in Paris. After all the effort and anxiety over finding just the right place, you succeeded!
Gary, we'll do a fundraiser for us both!
Harriet,
You mon amie, witnessed all my trials and tribulations and you helped me so much. I hope one day we will land in Paris together. Won't we have some wonderful times seeing the city we love.......TOGETHER!!
Adorable courtyards like this are just another thing that makes Paris so special. Wonderful that this was "your" courtyard while you were last in Paris. (FYI, my countdown to Paris has just started -- 2 weeks and a day!)
Oh, that is suhweet!
It's delightful, the French make even the mundane beautiful! If only I had half their chic.
