Le Chanteur de Rue

Oh the Place des Vosges. As you know I was so fortunate to stay near there this last trip. It's a very special neighborhood. I had some time alone there and one afternoon, as I strolled around I heard music and this marvelous soprano voice. Imagine my surprise. This man, Jean Do Cardi, was singing, but not with words really. There he was, with his bright blue scarf blowing in the breeze. Another Paris moment.

Love this portrait, Virginia. Made even more perfect by the scarf blowing in the breeze.

I was sitting in my Palais Royal apartment one evening during my last Paris trip when I heard a female opera singer echoing through the corridors outside my window. After listening for several minutes I decide to open the door and have have a look. I almost fell over when I saw that it was Jean Docardi. I went back in the apartment and enjoyed the rest of the free concert.

Don't you just love Paris moments? :)

And I love the way you capture so many of those special Paris moments—and that you like to share! Life might be rather dull without characters like these.

Yet another example of V's prowess as a portrait photographer!!!

He doesn't qualify as a "Stranger"?

Chieftess,
Non, I never got to speak with him so I can count him!:)

Alexa,
Isn't it amazing how many "characters" we find in Paris!

Oh yes!! We have seen and heard this man singing as well under the stone arch... :)
Beautiful chants anyway. We stayed in Paris from August 4th until 8th.
Best regards from Belgium, Marjolijn

Love it, Virginia! Looks like he's straight out of Turandot.

Something White,
I am glad you got to enjoy his voice as well!

Polly,
You haven't seen him as much as you are in paris? Go to Place des Vosges and try and find him the next trip!
